Unfortunately, due to the nature of our products we cannot allow returns or refunds for any reason other than defective items.
If you receive your order and are dissatisfied with the merchandise because it is defective, you may return your item for a full refund, or a replacement within 7 days of receipt.
Returns
In the event of a defective item we accept returns for full refund of the item price within 14 days. Returns must be in original packaging (if applicable), unused, unwashed, and not “prepped”. Due to the personal nature of cloth diapering, we cannot accept returns that have been used or have an odor. (Perfume, Air freshener, Cigarette smoke, etc.) Any skincare products can only be returned if the tamper seal has not been removed. It is the buyer’s responsibility to pay return postage.
Items sent back to us that fall beyond our return/exchange policy will not be sent back unless you make arrangements for us to ship it back to you at your own expense.
Please email "admin@basicstitchco.com" to coordinate where returned items should be shipped to.
Please make sure to include the original packing slip OR a note with your order number, email address, and reason for return. Lack of information may delay your refund!

Exchanges: Need to exchange an item? Please reach out to use prior to doing so, so that we can ensure that we have the product you are needing! Please notate in your return package what product that you would like to exchange for. The exchange will be processed upon receiving the return.
(Exchanged items should follow the guidelines for a return)
Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are nonrefundable.
If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
DO NOT COMBINE IN-STOCK AND PREORDER/PRESALE ITEMS, unless you are willing to wait for all items to be in-stock. Combined in-stock and preorder/presale items WILL NOT ship until all items have become in-stock. Depending on preorder/presale status, this could be up to 3 or 4 months of waiting for all items to be in-stock!
We ship only to the address provided. If you incorrectly enter the wrong address please reach out to us BEFORE your item ships. We cannot assume responsibility for any errors in the entering of your address during the checkout process. If the error is unable to be fixed prior to shipping, The Basic Stitch assumes no liability for lost/missing items due to wrong address information.
The Basic Stitch ("we" and "us") is the operator of (https://basicstitchco.com) ("Website"). By placing an order through this Website you will be agreeing to the terms below. These are provided to ensure both parties are aware of and agree upon this arrangement to mutually protect and set expectations on our service.
1. General
Subject to stock availability. We try to maintain accurate stock counts on our website but from time-to-time there may be a stock discrepancy and we will not be able to fulfill all your items at time of purchase. In this instance, we will fulfill the available products to you, and contact you about whether you would prefer to await restocking of the backordered item or if you would prefer for us to process a refund.
Orders combining "in-stock" and "PREORDER/PRESALE" items will not ship until all preorder/presale items have become in-stock on our website and are available to be fulfilled. If you would like in-stock items to ship ahead of your preorder/presale items, please add "Additional Shipping Fee" to your cart and proceed with check out. This will allow for two separate shipping. IF THE EXTRA SHIPPING FEE IS NOT ADDED, NONE OF YOUR ITEMS WILL SHIP UNTIL ALL ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE TO BE FULFILLED!!!
2. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are flat rate prices based on the current average rates through USPS and UPS. Payment for shipping will be collected with the purchase.
This price will be the final price for shipping cost to the customer.
3. Returns
3.1 Return Due To Change Of Mind Or Defect
The Basic Stitch will happily accept returns due to change of mind or defect as long as a request to return is received by us within 14 days of receipt of item. Returns must be in original packaging (if applicable), unused, unwashed, and not “prepped”. Due to the personal nature of cloth diapering, we cannot accept returns that have been used or have an odor. (Perfume, Air freshener, Cigarette smoke, etc.) Return shipping will be paid at the customers expense and will be required to arrange their own shipping. Skincare items cannot be returned if tamper seal has been removed unless found defective. Refunds will not be made for skincare products melted in transit if no ice packs/insulated mailers were added to the order.
Once returns are received and accepted, refunds will be processed to store credit for a future purchase. We will notify you once this has been completed through email.
(The Basic Stitch) will refund the value of the goods returned but will NOT refund the value of any shipping paid.
3.2 Exchanges
Need to exchange an item? Please reach out to use prior to doing so, so that we can ensure that we have the product you are needing! Please notate in your return package what product that you would like to exchange for. The exchange will be processed upon receiving the return.

4. Delivery Terms
4.1 Transit Time Domestically
In general, domestic shipments are in transit for 2 - 7 days
4.2 Transit time Internationally
Generally, orders shipped internationally are in transit for 4 - 22 days. This varies greatly depending on the courier you have selected. We are able to offer a more specific estimate when you are choosing your courier at checkout.
4.3 Dispatch Time
Orders are usually dispatched within 7-10 business days of payment of order. Turnaround Time (TAT) begins on first FULL business day after purchase. For example, if you order at 12PM PT Tuesday, Wednesday would be day 1 of your TAT. Same thing with a Friday order, your first day of TAT begins on the following Monday. If your order is placed before business hours (9AM PT), the day it is placed is day one of your TAT.
Our warehouse operates on Monday - Friday during business hours of 9AM PT - 4PM PT, except on national holidays at which time the warehouse will be closed. In these instances, we take steps to ensure shipment delays will be kept to a minimum.
4.4 Change Of Delivery Address
For change of delivery address requests, we are able to change the address at any time before the order has been dispatched.
4.5 P.O. Box Shipping
The Basic Stitch will ship to P.O. box addresses using postal services only. We are unable to offer couriers services to these locations.
4.6 Military Address Shipping
We are able to ship to military addresses using USPS. We are unable to offer this service using courier services.
4.7 Items Out Of Stock
We make every effort to reach out to you in the event an item is out of stock. If we cannot reach you in a timely manner, the out of stock item(s) will be cancelled and we will refund the out-of-stock item(s) and dispatch the rest of the order.
4.8 Delivery Time Exceeded
If delivery time has exceeded the forecasted time, please contact us so that we can conduct an investigation
4.9 Combining Orders
We cannot always guarantee the option to combine orders and shipping. We do our best to offer this service to save on shipping costs for our customers. If you would like an order combined, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate. If you combine orders, your TAT is based on your most recent order to allow our team proper time to gather and pack your orders. We cannot combine orders once one has had postage purchased for the package or it has shipped.
5. Tracking Notifications
Upon dispatch, customers will receive a tracking link from which they will be able to follow the progress of their shipment based on the latest updates made available by the shipping provider.
6. Parcels Damaged In Transit
If you find a parcel is damaged in-transit, if possible, please reject the parcel from the courier and get in touch with our customer service. If the parcel has been delivered without you being present, please contact customer service with next steps.
7. Duties & Taxes
7.1 Sales Tax
Sales tax will be applied to the final price at check out where applicable.
7.2 Import Duties & Taxes
Import duties and taxes for international shipments will be pre-paid, without any additional fees to be paid by customer upon arrival in destination country.
8. Cancellations
If you change your mind before you have received your order, we are able to accept cancellations at any time before the order has been dispatched. If an order has already been dispatched, please refer to our refund policy.
9. Insurance
Parcels are insured for loss and damage up to the value as stated by the courier.
9.1 Process for parcel damaged in-transit
We will process a refund or replacement as soon as the courier has completed their investigation into the claim.
9.2 Process for parcel lost in-transit
We will process a refund or replacement as soon as the courier has conducted an investigation and deemed the parcel lost.
