Why cloth diapers over disposable?

SO MANY REASONS!! 

  • Cloth diapers are much cheaper in the long run.
  • Less waste in landfills.
  • Safer for baby! Your baby will no longer have chemicals from disposables on their skin! Less rashes, less worry :)
  • Reusable, can usually even be passed on through the family or resell your stash!
  • You can adjust the absorbency to your baby's needs! Whether you need less or more, you can add or take away inserts and even change the material of insert you use. No more purchasing disposable doublers on top of already buying disposable diapers!
  • SO CUTE!!! There are so many cute prints and the cloth community constantly adds more patterns to stay up to date on current trends.
  • The adjustable snaps allow for you to use them until your baby is potty trained!

Well... What about the poop??

Easy! For breastfed babies prior to eating solids, breastfed poops are water soluble and require no extra attention before going in the wash. Formula poop and solid food poops require to either plop or rinse the poop into the toilet and then into the wash! That's why our AWJ or microfleece-lined diapers are so awesome. It is MUCH easier to rinse/plop poop off of AWJ/fleece rather than other options.

How many extra loads of laundry can I expect?

This one is totally up to you and your wash routine. Some people wash daily or every other day, some go a week or a little more! You can play around with it to find your favorite length to go. Find your happy spot. :)

What detergent is best to wash cloth diapers?

Short answer, our highest recommendation aside from Unicorn Beyond Clean, is Tide Free & Gentle liquid or Tide Original powder/liquid.
